Taplow is a charming village and civil parish located in the Unitary Authority of Buckinghamshire, England. It is situated on the left bank of the River Thames, opposite Maidenhead in the neighbouring county of Berkshire, and is bordered by Cippenham and Burnham to the east. As the southwesternmost settlement in Buckinghamshire, Taplow boasts a picturesque Grade II listed mock-medieval church, the St. Nicholas Parish Church, along with a school that shares the same name. The village is well-served by Taplow railway station, which is located on the Great Western Main Line and offers convenient transportation links to London Paddington, Reading, and Oxford. Additionally, Taplow is home to two conservation areas, the Taplow Village Conservation Area and the Taplow Riverside Conservation Area, which showcase the area’s rich natural beauty. Visitors can explore the many footpaths that connect all parts of the parish to Maidenhead Bridge and to Burnham Beeches, a beautiful and hilly wood that marks the beginning of the Chiltern Hills.
