Eton Wicks was originally an integral part of Eton College. In the 15th century, after the construction of Eton College, a small cluster of houses was erected immediately west of the college grounds. These houses accommodated shoemakers, tailors, and other workers who served in the college, forming a hamlet that was physically separated from the rest of Eton by land owned by the college. This hamlet was referred to as the wick.
Situated on the border of the parish, adjacent to the village, cottages were built to house farmhands who worked at the nearby Bell Farm. In the 19th century, Eton College students took a personal interest in the village, and consequently, the college built a village hall and a small school in the area. It was a traditional responsibility of the college to ensure the social well-being of the settlement.
Between the 1880s and the 2000s, the village grew rapidly, and it is now a bustling and thriving community.
